3.4.2. Notifications

Audio notifications are sounds which are played when various events occur. Each notification can be selectively enabled or disabled, by checking or unchecking the checkbox, and set to a custom file.

3.4.3. Screencast

Screencast preferences determine how screencasting works. See Screencast Frame for an explanation on using screencasting.

Key Bindings

Screenshot

Key that when pressed, sends a captured image of your screen to everyone in the selected channel.

Toggle Record

Key that when pressed, toggles recording of your screen as video and sending it to everyone in the selected channel.

Toggle Float Canvas

Key that when pressed, toggles visibility of a draggable top-level frame that displays the output of screencasting performed by you or anyone else in the selected channel.

Record

Record Screen

Select which monitor to capture data from to be used in a screenshot or video. Always 0 on Mac OS X.

Record Sampling

Algorithm used when rescaling image before being sent. Options consist of nearest neighbor or bilinear. Each option also has a mode to either stretch an image or preserve the image's aspect. Nearest neighbor is the fastest option but provides visually rough and blocky results. Bilinear provides a slower but smoother looking result than nearest neighbor. Stretching the image can make it look distorted but takes full advantage of the target area. Preserve aspect adds black bars when needed to keep the image from appearing stretched.

Playback

Playback Sampling

Nearest neighbor is the fastest option but provides visually rough and blocky results. Bilinear provides a slower but smoother looking result than nearest neighbor. Stretching the image can make it look distorted but takes full advantage of the target area. Preserve aspect adds black bars when needed to keep the image from appearing stretched.

Float Canvas

Automatically hide float canvas after not being updated for a period of time

When this is checked and the Float Canvas is enabled, it will automatically hide itself after a specified period of inactivity. See below for specifying the timeout time.

Timeout in seconds

Adjusts timeout in seconds for Float Canvas to automatically hide itself. Above option must be enabled and Float Canvas must be enabled or this will have no effect.
