The Dock allows you to open, close, and undock frames which are used to give Imptalk™ extended functionality. Simply click an icon on the dock to open a frame and click again to close it. Open frames can be resized using the splitter on the left side of the Dock. Frames are undocked by opening the frame and clicking the Undock button. Undocked frames are freely draggable and no longer have an icon on the Dock. Closing the frame returns it to the Dock.

Screencasting allows you to take a recording of your screen, in either still or video form, and share it with others. Use it to boast an achievement to friends or gain a tactical advantage that would otherwise require sitting next to your teammates.

The most basic form of screencasting is the screenshot. A screenshot is an image made up of an exact copy of your screen. Screenshots are usually automatically down scaled and compressed before being shared with others. If a screenshot or video is already being transmitted by anyone in the selected channel, the screenshot will not be sent and it will be dropped.

Video is similar to a screenshot in that it is made from an image copy of your screen. It differs in that multiple images are captured and transmitted in quick succession in order to appear as animation. As of Imptalk version 0.10.0, video recording is locked at 5 frames per second. Just like with screenshots, video is usually automatically down scaled and compressed before being shared with others. Also like screenshots, if a screenshot or video is already being transmitted by anyone in the selected channel, the video will not be sent and instead be dropped.
![]() | Windows Vista users might find under some conditions that their desktop is recorded instead of an expected full-screen application. It is recommended to run full-screen applications in such a situation in windowed mode in order to have intended functionality. |

Float Canvas is a top level frame that displays screencasting output generated by you or anyone else in the currently selected channel. It stays above all other windows, including full-screen windows, so you do not have to take your eyes off your game. Holding the alt key and then clicking the frame with the left mouse button allows you to drag the frame to a new position. It can be adjusted under Preferences to automatically hide after a specified period of inactivity or its visibility can be toggled manually via key binding.
