3.2. Channels

In Imptalk™ you must be in a channel to communicate with others. You can join multiple channels at the same time. Using the default push-to-talk key will allow you to talk to those persons in the selected channel. You can set per channel push-to-talk keys by selecting a channel and using the Settings() frame under the Dock. To join a channel, type in a name into the text field above the channel tree and click the Join button. Channel names are case sensitive and must be between 1 and 20 characters long. To leave a channel, click the to the right of the channel's name.

Many actions in Imptalk™ are dependent on which channel you have selected. Such as which text chat is displayed, which whiteboard is displayed, and which channel you are speaking in when your push-to-talk button is pressed. To change the selected channel, click the channel or a user in the channel.
